4.5/5: Always delicious.
For an appetizer we had the fried calamari with a spicy and sweet chili sauce that was amazing. The squid was cooked perfectly. We also started with salad with ginger dressing and a miso soup. Compared to other ginger dressings this one is mild as opposed to spicy, and the salad is simply made with iceberg lettuce and cherry tomatoes, standard Japanese restaurant fare. The miso soup was sweet, salty, and delicious. As a main course, the rolls Bento box came with California rolls, squid tempoura roll, calamari salad, and edamame beans. We also had the salmon sashimi. The California rolls were fresh and light as they should be , the squid tempura roll was crunchy and left you wishing for another roll. The calamari salad was perfect for whetting your palette. the salmon sashimi melted in your mouth, perfectly prepared it tasted like it had just come out of the ocean. Chef Scott's is always reasonably priced, but the lunch deals are an especially good value. Every item on the menu is so consistently delicious you might be tempted to take it for granted, I rate this a 4.5/5, which is just about as perfect as I can imagine, but I am not quite prepared to say I know what perfect is yet.
